Cutting-Edge Hedge Cutter Takes Ireland by Storm

"Revolutionary Self-Propelled Hedge Cutter Introduced to Ireland by Green Equipment Supplies"

The traditional image of a hedge cutter as an attachment to a tractor has been challenged by the introduction of the ILF Kommunal, a standalone, self-propelled machine. Manufactured by Energreen of Italy and brought into Ireland by Green Equipment Supplies (GES) of Co. Wexford, the ILF Kommunal made its debut at this year’s Tullamore Show on Sunday, August 13. Powered by a 143hp Deutz engine, the machine is equipped with a two-speed hydrostatic transmission and is designed for hedge cutting, landscape maintenance, and forestry. It can also be fitted with tree pruning attachments.

The ILF Kommunal showcased at the Tullamore Show featured the Orbital 7 arm, which has a reach of 7m and can cut to either side thanks to a 270° turret mounting and hydraulic cross slide. Different variations of this arm are available, and customers can choose from three different cab options to suit their requirements. One of the key advantages of the ILF Kommunal is that the hedge cutter is mounted at the front of the machine, providing the operator with a clear view of the task at hand without the need to twist or look over their shoulder.

With a price tag of approximately €195,000, the ILF Kommunal may seem expensive. However, a tractor of similar power with an equally sophisticated cutter would cost a similar amount. Furthermore, the ILF Kommunal is not limited to a single task and can be fitted with a loader arm and three-point linkage with power take-off (PTO), allowing for the mounting of various other implements on the front, including existing hedge cutters. The ILF Kommunal also features four-wheel steering and the rear axle can be oscillated or locked into position for increased stability. The weight of the tractor unit without attachments is 6,520kg.

The introduction of the ILF Kommunal marks a significant development in the field of hedge cutting machinery. Its standalone, self-propelled design offers operators greater visibility and flexibility in their work. While the price may be a deterrent for some, it is comparable to the cost of a tractor with a similar level of power and capabilities. The ILF Kommunal’s ability to accommodate various attachments further enhances its versatility. As the demand for efficient and effective hedge cutting solutions continues to grow, the ILF Kommunal presents itself as a viable option for professionals in the industry.
