Red Sea Disruption Causes Increase in Europe to India Container Freight Rates

The recent disruption in the Red Sea has led to a significant increase in container freight rates from Europe to India. As a result, kiln dried sawn timber prices have risen by up to 30 Euros per m3. This surge in prices has also affected Gandhidham, where kiln dried sawn timber prices have increased by 100 INR per CFT.

Currently, South American green sawn timber is being sold at 541 INR per CFT, while Australian radiata pine sawn timber is being sold at 571 INR per CFT. These prices reflect the impact of the disrupted freight rates on the timber market.

Furthermore, import log CIF prices have also seen an increase at Kandla, both for ship loads and containers. This rise in CIF prices has resulted in a growing demand for sawn timber, as businesses and consumers seek alternative options amidst the price surge.
